Kaylee Alvarez-Reflection 2

Hello! Welcome to my blog reflection. I am Kaylee, and this is the second part of my reflection. This is my personal opinion and what I had thought about the 4 groups that presented in my class and outside at The Steps about Gender Equality, Immigration Policies, Education Policies, and the Electorate and The Election Process.

Firstly, I would like to say I enjoyed the presentations in class and outside of the premises where many different classes joined us to learn about the importance of Gender Equality, Immigration Policies, Education Policies, and the Electorate and The Election Process. There are many things I didn’t know until I did research about my own topic, but many of the groups that presented their own topics said a lot of educational, opinionative and knowledgeable information.

For Gender Equality, the presentation talked about how all employments, salary incomes, and the comparison towards women at work came to be. The person who spoke about this topic which I remember was Joshua and he did excellent on finding this information, detailing, and being precise while overall making his topic sound simple. The next topics that were talked about was Abortion Rights from both point of views, Pro – Life and Pro – Choice. They were equally informative and understanding. Women have to endure so much, but it’s truly a beauty and a privilege on what they can make, such as a human living being. It’s amazing! I am glad there is many services for women that are not able to carry a child, because truthfully, and as hard and realistic as it sounds, not all women are able to carry or be able to provide or have a child. The women may put her and her baby or both of each other at risk and no one should endure nor the woman carrying the child, the sadness of a woman or babies or woman and her babies’ death, if you understand what I am trying to imply. I also like the fact that there are options for putting the child up for adoption if it deems fit. There are many places that are welcoming and accepting of a mother putting up her child for adoption, if necessary. I am still learning based on this topic! Any constructive criticism helps! It’s also important to shine the light on how women were given the right to vote from the Congress and how long it took, also how women were treated during Sports. The presenters educated us very precisely about this, the information was accurate and based on their research, too! Women deserve as much equal treatment in Sports just as much as men do! Thankfully, it’s becoming something more viral and acknowledged about, because there is so much drama on social media about women fighting, gossiping, and rambling about each other in Sports. It’s really fun and entertaining as if you were watching men play Football. Women in any sort of sports playing is fun too!

For Immigration Policies, this one was very detailed and informative, I personally didn’t remember as much but they did provide a lot of important information since Immigration is a very important issue in today’s world. Immigration Policies definitely highlighted how immigration affects both the economy and cultural diversity. Many debates are happening around the world at the moment of immigration itself. We are all trying to find a balancing solution between security and inclusivity and how these policies impact lives of living human beings and communities, especially of Hispanic kind. Democrats support a path to citizenship, family reunification, refugee and asylum policies, border security, and economic contributions while Republicans support border security, deportation, legal immigration, employment verification, refugee and asylum policies which in most cases, many of things that were named are both similar and needed from both parties and everyone has a different point of view and opinion based on the political parties. I am not much of a political person myself, but I try to listen to the news, social media, and how there are Immigration issues being talked about from around the world. In America, there is an immigration system that has its policies and regulations to control the legalization of immigrants. There are visa limits, asylum restrictions, public charge rules, and of course, COVID-19, itself. There is a balance between the prohibitions and opportunities whereas changes in administrations and policies vary. I am talking on behalf of the research from the Immigration Policies presenters PDF because it shows knowledgably informative information. Now, for example worldwide countries, have a different immigration system with its own policies and regulations like, Japan and Canada. Further on, the presenters mentioned the organizations that are involved within the immigration system. This is amazing because this helps people’s opinions and interests be heard and are represented in policy debates. For example, ACLU Immigrants Right Project and Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center take these steps to face the unfairness of unconstitutional immigration policies. This includes lawsuits or litigation that face federal state laws that violate an immigrant’s rights. These battles help ensure that the immigrants have fairness in overturning polices and create a just system. Make sure you stand up for Immigrant’s rights!

For Education Policies, it’s important to have the right to fair education. This gives quality education and often determines the opportunity for most people or students. All students deserve to succeed while pursuing and participating in education as it is fundamental for the world to learn. Knowledge is power! The presenters did really well by presenting their Education Policies piece. It is important to inform the audience and the people about the future of the world, Education and IT IS IMPORTANT! Students should be able to learn and have fun while learning and improve the educational system’s guidelines and how it functions. Every Student Succeeds Act aim to provide the states with a flexible education while being able to stay accountable for improving the students’ outcomes, like students that don’t have many of the possible educational opportunities. It is important to keep advocating for schools to have better school funding and affordable student loans!

For the Electorate and Elections Process, it is important to vote and stand up for what is right for you even if your policy does not get chosen, you still have the opportunity to be chosen at another time, it does not mean it’s the end. VOTE! It is important for the future of the newer and newer generations as they come, let’s teach everyone to vote and the importance of being an advocate for voting! VOTING will shape the world and our lives. This is my group and my topic. I enjoyed researching this topic as it helped me get closer to voting as I am a registered voter already and I am 18 years of age! Perfect for voting and so are you! It is very important to be part of the Electorate and Elections Process because you have a voice in government. USE IT! You will be able to represent yourself and many others! This promotes democracy and social change! This will impact many generations for so many years to come! Vote! Vote! Vote! It is your right and if you don’t use it, you are not able to complain!

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my reflection! I appreciate it!
